Are we in a Recession in Metro Atlanta?

The housing market in Metro Atlanta is currently facing a Recession according to local housing trends. The downward spiral of the job market, rising gas & food prices, and the increase in Foreclosures has caused this current recessional period. We have been experiencing this turn in the market since Summer 2006. Although our housing prices remain in line with a year ago, there is a greater inventory of homes to sell.
