Jason Barr is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Arts and Sciences. While at Florida he was president of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Vice President of Florida Blue Key, A member of Omicron Delta Kappa and Savant. He was selected as Outstanding Graduate in Leadership in 1978. Barr received a Master of Divinity Degree from Duke University, and completed course work for a Doctor of Ministry degree at Boston University School of Theology. Barr also is a graduate of Harvard University Institute of Community and Economic Development. Jason Barr is currently the senior pastor of the Macedonia Baptist Church of Pittsburgh, PA. This church has grown to over 3500 members. Barr is the founder and chairman of the Board of Directors of Macedonia Family and Community Enrichment Center, a not for profit corporation that encourages healthy families and youth. Pastor Barr is also the visionary for the Macedonia Development Corporation, a for profit corporation that is presently building 20 million dollar housing development in inner city Pittsburgh. Barr serves on the board of directors of the Urban League of Pittsburgh, the August Wilson Center for African American Culture, and the Metro Urban Institute of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He has been inducted as a member of the Martin Luther King, Jr. College of Preacher and Eminent Scholars by Morehouse College, and one of the “50 Men of Influence in Pittsburgh” by the Pittsburgh Courier.
