To the minds behind the creation of Black Swamp Land, I just wanted to say, “Thank you.” As I look back on the 20+ years since I first stepped foot on the campus of UF, I just had to give thanks to my God for all He has blessed me with. I thank Him for His Son, without whom none of the other things in my life would have been possible. Next is wisdom – knowing right and wrong, but choosing to do right. Wisdom taught me the true value of relationships. Wisdom guided me to my lovely wife. Wisdom taught me how to LOVE her. Through it all, we have learned how blessed a “quiver full” can truly be, and that God's promises for provision are real. Wisdom showed me that no job title was more important than "Father." We celebrate my wife's birthday on Nov. 24th and our anniversary on Dec. 1st. In a world where safety, food, clothing and shelter are not guaranteed to all, on behalf of my family, I just had to give thanks. Blessings to you and your families, my friends and fellow alumni.
Outstanding words Michael. Thank you for posting them. God Bless You and your happy union.
I too must offer words of thanks and good tidings to all of you great Gators.
Satan has done a lot of damage in the year 2008 and he will not cease doing the same in 2009 and beyond. In spite of all I and surely many of you have gone through this year experiencing unbearable pain, stress and possibly even depression over things you tried yet could not control, remember true Hope and Change come ONLY through our Lord Jesus Christ.
If you feel alone and abandoned you must always maintain faith that God's Will takes precendent over your own, solves seemingly unsolevable problems and ultimately and ONLY produces good. Not in a time of our choosing but in a glorious and ON TIME period of His choosing. I am witness to that fact. Believe that!
Do not try and apply human-based, frail and impotent effort to fix the things you have tried and tried to change nor engage the struggles you continue to engage to no apparent success. Trust in the Lord and give up your battles to Him (Psalms 1, 23, 35 and Psalms 37).
Let Him fight the evildoers for you and certainly do NOT try and assign or list whom you in your selfish nature think or more accurately feel those evildoers are. That task is for Him to accomplish and He will do so. You are never lonely when you know Jesus walks not only beside you but within you. Ask Him to smack Satan out of his destructive realm of influence so that the gulf that demon occupies between you and your most precious loved one or goal sought is cleared.
Pray not only for yourself, but for ALL those whom appear to be the enemy. Trying to point them out is an exercise in futility. He and he alone knows who they are. Love them. Do not assign blame. Accept responsibility for your actions. Repent of your own sins and shortcomings and then simply.......WAIT!!!!!!
Drop the anger.
If my prayers are heard and I know they are being heard, HE WILL FIX IT. GUARANTEED!!!!!!!!!!
Be safe this HOLYday. Love those who do not openly show a return that love or have abandoned doing so altogether.
Pray incessantly. Committ random acts of kindness to your fellow man and did I mention....LOVE, LOVE and LOVE AGAIN.
