So many many Black Americans think that once they have served time in prison for a felony that they rights are stripped, that is false. Please educate yourself and others of this false information, each state has different laws on how felon's can vote and the link above go into details on felon's right to vote!!! Please pass this to any and everyone who think they right to vote is revoked!

It's not a matter of how low we (citizens of the US) will go to get anyone voted in, it's about knowing your rights. The only thing I see to be sad is how many ignorant people it truly is. So many Black People, primarily black males, are railroaded by the system every minute of the day. It is time to educate all people of all races to decrease ignorance. The fact of the matter is we the american people are misled by the government and we need to educate ourselves and others on our rights as U.S. citizens. I'm sorry you feel the way you do but obviously you don't have any felons in your circle of friends or family, which I find that hard to believe. If they have done the time for their crime, why shouldn't they be able to vote. I'm quite sure your world isn't perfect, so give me a break with your cynical replies. God Bless You and America!!!!

I think it is important for everyone to know their rights regardless of their race, creed or class. Our right to vote is an important one! As Americans we have the right and it should not be removed permanently because of mistakes made in the past. If an individual has served their time and been reformed then they should be able to vote. And V, I have people in my family and circle of friends who have backgrounds which were not perfect too. They have changed and are now viable productive citizens. They should have the right to vote. I have been sharing this information already and will continue to do so. I am not telling people who to vote for but I am telling them to get involved and research so that they make an informed choice on November 4th.

Okay but how come the issue of felons voting only comes up when it is likely to benefit Democrat candidates. Please explain as I KNOW you are smart enough to know felons (especially Black ones) exiting the penal system are first of all not likely educated on the issues affecting the law abiding, have more than likely committed crimes against our own people and have a chip on their shoulder that says the GOP and not themselves or Dem welfare/social slavery in disguise government programs are most responsible for their self-inflicted irresponsible behavior that landed their butts in "da sistem" in the first place.
YES! I 100% agreee the court system is stacked heavily against men of color but that still does not mean we need these idiots voting on issues that affect the rest of us who in spite of that fact, find a way to do it right.
Felons, idiots, retards, lunatics and those under the age of 30 years old should not be allowed to vote and YES there should be a poll exam to determine if one even knows the basic makeup and structure of our government.
Furthermore, all ballots should be printed in one language and one language only and that is ENGLISH!!!! You cannot speak or read a ballot in English? Stay your behind out of the process until you learn it and learn it well as the very tie that binds a Nation whose very definition is that of the binding and cooperation of those of many lands and cultures in a bond of American fraternity!
If you cannot accept the fact there IS INDEED a distinct American culture superior to all others on the planet then get your butts out and return to the crap hole country that induced you to risk life and limb to get here!
We have become a divided "salad bowl" as opposed to the successful "melting pot" and it is high time we quit allowing people to enter this country illegally and legally and impose their own failed cultural machinations upon us.
BE AMERICAN. LEARN THE LANGUAGE. LEARN AND EMBRACE HOW OUR GOVERNMENT IS STRUCTURED AND FUNCTION OR GET THE HELL OUT NOW!

I must agree with you on one thing and one thing only, that America does need to stop allowing illegal aliens to not only enter our country illegally but allow them to have the same priviledges as citizens. You seem very angry in the way you express your opinions, so I would like to give you some friendly advise and suggest that you do a self evaluation. You need to come to the realization that there are innocent people who have been victimize by the system and for you to assume that all convicts are uneducated and/or ignorant to what is going on in the world speaks alot about your character. You have the right to your opinions but have a little more tact about how you express them.

I don't need to be less angry or have more tact whereas you clearly are receiving my message. That is the problem with people today. Way too much estrogen based approaches to problems which require larger doses of testosterone. The kitchen is always hot my dear.
Since you do not like my approach may I also infer that you think Rev. Jeremiah Wright makes me look like a choir boy and that you are disgusted that Barack Obama lied about his LONG TERM association with the guy? What about the angry rhetorical approach employed by Barack associate Father Pfleger? What about the angry terrorist bomber William Ayers who is a close associate of Barack Obama? Would you not desribe ACORN members as crazed, angry loons? Obama represented them in court and gave them over $800,000.00. Would you therefore say the same things to Obama that you say to me regarding the angry approach or are you too fooled by his honey-tongued ability to say ABSOLUTELY NOTHING better than anyone in history?
Yes, many Black men have been victimized by the system. It is certainly stacked against Black men in particular. The sad reality is it is often our own people who throw us to the wolves. Trust me on this one. Our own worst enemies are often the ones living in our own neighborhoods and often in our own homes sometimes even sleeping in our own beds.
We cannot deal with the "evil White boogeyman" until we deal with our own issues.

Give us a specific, peer-reviewed and verifiable example of where the government (that being us) has mislead anyone on their rights regarding voting OR are you simply saying if it ain't on TV or the information passed out by the Democrat Party, Tom Joyner, Michael Baisden, some Hollywood moron like Danny Glover, Sean Penn, Matt Damn, the dingbats on "The View" or the formerly relevant NAACP etc. we are being mislead?

All we seem to do is bitch, whine and moan about the evil American gubmint but then turn right around and look for that same evil entity to give us everything from a bottle of milk to the houses we freakin' live in. Give me a break please and choose what it is you want.
Do you truly prefer self reliance or do you want big daddy gubmint to take care of you. Government has already replaced the Black father and destroyed the Black family so what is it that you want from them that will make you feel better "Smokie?"
The government creates problems it does not fix them. You'd think Black folk would know this by now given that for almost 50 years voting for and supporting Democrats WE STILL CRY AND MOAN ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES EVERY ELECTION CYCLE!
